Philip Freidin is a founding partner and member of SW Florida Probate Trial Lawyers. He is an experienced civil trial attorney and probate attorney who litigates complex, high net worth probate, trust, estate, guardianship, and other inheritance related cases.

Attorney Freidin has built a strong reputation throughout the Southwest Florida region for successfully representing clients in sophisticated civil litigation cases. He is an experienced litigator who began practicing law in his hometown of Miami, Florida in 1969. Throughout his legal career, Attorney Freidin has litigated and tried more than 200 civil cases, securing numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients. He is board certified by the Florida Bar as an expert and specialist in civil trial and was designated as a Board Certified Trial Advocate from 1995-2008 by the National Board of Trial Advocates.

In the landmark case West v. Caterpillar, Phil helped establish Florida's doctrine of Strict Product Liability which now allows consumers to hold manufacturers and sellers of defective products liable without proof of negligence. This 1975 decision permanently changed Florida Law and is a major case of study in Florida Law Schools.

Attorneys Freidin received national coverage on Goode v. Walt Disney World. This landmark case solidified the responsibility that amusement parks have to their patrons to provide a safe environment. The case resulted in the highest jury award ever entered against any Disney park to that date.

During the course of his legal career, Attorney Freidin has received a number of prestigious honors and distinctions in recognition of his professional skills and ethical standards. He was appointed to both the Florida Supreme Court Task Force on Complex Litigation and the Eleventh Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. He has also served as the former president, vice president, treasurer and secretary of the Florida Justice Association and as a member of Governor Chiles’ Task Force on Preventing Elderly Abuse. As a board certified expert and specialist in civil trial, Attorney Freidin has presented lectures and legal programs to hundreds of professional and trial organizations throughout the nation.
